In short: the site has no cookies and no analytics. Your personal data is handled only if you get in touch through the form or by email, and then only to answer you.

What is handled, and why
Messages
When you send the contact form or an email, I receive your name, your email address, your company if you give it, and your message. I use them only to answer you and to deal with the matter, for example to make a quote.
The legal basis is steps you ask for before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation), and for other messages my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me (Article 6(1)(f)).
Server logs
The site's server records the usual log data of every request: the IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser's identification. The logs are used only to keep the site working and secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in doing so (Article 6(1)(f)).
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tracking. It loads no outside fonts or scripts. The contact form is loaded from Tally only when you open it.
Who else handles the data
- Tally (Tally BV, Belgium) stores the form's answers on my behalf, in the EU. The notification of a new answer reaches me by email through SendGrid (United States), which Tally uses.
- DreamHost (United States) runs the site's server and email, so data is transferred outside the EU. The transfer rests on DreamHost's data processing addendum and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The data is not sold or given to anybody else, and it is not used for marketing.
How long it is kept
Messages are kept as long as the matter needs, and at most two years from the last message. If a contract follows, what belongs to the contract and its invoicing is kept for as long as Finnish accounting law requires. Server logs are kept according to the hosting provider's practice.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data held about you and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest, or ask for it to be restricted. Send the request to info@panu-automation.com.
If you think your data is handled unlawfully, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or to the authority of your own country.
